CHAPLAINCY IN THE WORKPLACE AND BEYOND

Sajirah Psychotherapy and Chaplaincy Services
is reaching out to the workplace. We offer support to Human
Resource (HR) Departments in all work environments seeking to
uplift the morale of the millions of employees who are overcome
by work related stress.
Founder Rev. Dr. James Emmanuel Gibbs notes “Work-related
stress, perhaps now more than ever before, poses a threat to the
health of staff and by extention the organizations. Manifesting
itself in physical and emotional problems, these stresses will
negatively alter behavior at the workplace seriously reducing
productivity ”.
Sajirah Psychotherapy and Chaplaincy Services
through its experienced network of Chaplains and Counsellors offers
on-site chaplaincy services to various types of corporate organizations
including contemporary workplaces, factories, industrial plants
and leisure facilities.
Dealing with stress in the workplace
- Many employees don’t communicate work related stress
because they might feel restricted by policies, which are
necessary for a healthy organization. Our Chaplaincy Service
seeks guidance from key people within any given workplace,
such as personnel staff.
- In meeting people in their work place Chaplains provide
the opportunity for people to talk confidentially. this might
be about personal issue, family issues, or work related issues.
- The Chaplaincy Services tries to help workers understand
and cope with pressures and issues that their work raises.
- The Chaplain can be available in times of crysis or sit
in, where invited, on staff liason or other appropriate meeting
points.
- The Chaplain can be available, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.
In special cases by arrangement with key groups, Management,
Staff Liason Committees, Unions.
The Chaplain seeks to identify issues that the job might raise;
and help the employee understand and cope with the issue and
associated work.
The Chaplain can become part of a Structured Focus Group (SFG)
in the organization or help to set up and facilitate SFGs if
the organization does not already have this facility.
