Rev. Dr. James Emmanuel Gibbs, founder of this project,
has been providing counselling and family therapy for over twelve
years. Founder of SAJIRAH PSYCHOTHERAPY and CHAPLAINCY SERVICES,
he anticipates reaching many persons who need active and flexible
psychotherapy. A trained counsellor and therapist , Rev Dr. Gibbs
is a graduate of The United Theological College of the West Indies,
(UTCWI), Mona, University of the West Indies, Mona, and the Doctor
of Ministry Degree from, Columbia Theological Seminar, USA &
United Theological College of the West Indies, Rev. Dr Gibbs also
studies in Cuba and Scotland where he gained extended experience
in pastoral care and cross cultural family systems. He has worked
with families, children & adolescents, seniors, relationships,
and couples. Rev. Dr. Gibbs worked as volunteer to individuals,
sporting organisations, and corporations, providing positive life-changing
guidance, motivation and therapy needed to expand happiness
and fulfilled lives.
An ordained minister, he is the first point of therapy
for his parishioners. He leads persons on a daily basis
to a stable and happy lifestyle.
These persons explore ways of resolving
personal differences and life issues. His goal is to afford clients
opportunities to identify, undestand and manage a wide range of
emotional and behavioural problems. He has strong family
values and philosophies which he imparts to others.

Q. What if I'm not sure if counselling/therapy
is for me?
When you get connected to one of our counsellors your
queries will be discussed and
the appropriate services/referrals
will be made . Remember we are your first
point of contact. We'll assess your situation and prepare you
for referral where necessary.
Remember psychotherapy is for persons of all ages, background
and walks of life. it serves individuals, couples, families,
or groups. Psychotherapy works in a variety of settings treating
emotional distress and/or psychological disturbances which occurres
either within or between individuals, families and groups.
Q. Do you have a walk-in
counselling practice, if I decide to have a face-to-face consultation?
Yes. initial assessment will establish a provisional diagnostic
of your need. This will also formulate the course of theapy,
taking into accout inentified changes required in congition,
affect and behavior. Our therapists are availabe where
they can offer warn, accepting, and non-judgemental assessment,
They will provide managed care with confidentiality and control

Q. Are international callers welcome?
Yes. Although we are targeting Jamaicans, Sajirah Psychotherapy
and Chaplaincy Services' problem solving services
are open to persons living abroad. This is the world wide
web after all. Counselling eliminates boundaries.
